I've just recently done a fresh install with the newly released Windows 8.1. Trying to install the DW5560 drivers v8.0.8.4 fails with the message 'Authentication failed.

The Dell Wireless HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini-Card cannot be install on this computer'. These drivers worked fine on Windows 8.0. Are there any plans to release updated drivers which will install on 8.1 or is there any known work-arounds to get them to install? I suspect the drivers would work perfectly fine on 8.1, and its probably just some OS version check in the installer that is failing. UPDATE: Seems I was somewhat able to solve this myself. I found the workaround by finding the temporary files that the installshield installer extracted under AppData Local Temp and ran the installer from there.

Running that installer again created new temporary files under AppData Local Temp. In there I found 'extract.cab', which I extracted with 7zip and found the actual driver files inside there.

I was able to install those drivers completely fine just by going through Device Manager and using its update drivers wizard and pointing it toward that folder. Nokia pc suite 6.3 for windows xp 32 bit. That got the drivers installed and working. However, I can't find a version of Dell Mobile Broadband Manager that claims to have Windows 8 compatibility.

However, I do know I had it running on 8.0 completely fine before installing 8.1. I tried installing the latest version I could find, which is 7.2.3.0. It installed fine, but it doesn't work, it just claims the device is not responding. The device is infact working fine though, I was able to run the firmware updater, which updated the firmware on the card successfully. Windows is able to connect to the wwlan network on its own without the Dell Mobile Broadband Manager app on its own however. It still would be nice of the Dell app worked though, as.
