One show's disappointment can be another's fortune. When ( Logan) his position as executive producer on Starz's American Gods, it left him open to work on his other projects in development. One of those projects is FX's anticipated adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn's Y: The Last Man comic series, of which he was appointed showrunner, and it appears that FX has taken notice. TV Guide asked FX CEO John Landgraf for an update on the development of Y: The Last Man, and things are looking pretty good. 'We feel pretty optimistic, not quite at a final decision point,' Landgraf told TV Guide at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
'But we got a script I really like, a draft we really like recently. Michael is available, because he's not involved in American Gods anymore.' That 'pretty optimistic' part can probably be translated to 'very excited' in exec speak, as they're more prone to keep the progress of projects in development guarded until they're ready to make an announcement.
We should also note that Landgraf when asked about the Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC this summer. That show was picked up to series this month.

Vaughn, the popular comic book tells the story of Yorick Brown, the only man to survive a worldwide plague that wipes out the world’s male population.
